Week of September 18, 2017
After last week's tropical storm, work will continue on the underground utilities, including the chilled water lines, storm water lines, and extension of the water main. (See photo above: The crew is working on welding together sections of chilled water piping, which will then be lowered into the trench, tested, and then put into service.)
Crews will also continue to set H-piles, install wooden lagging, and drill for additional tie backs for the retaining wall. You will see numerous dump trucks hauling away soil as the contractor continues to bring the site down to proper elevation.
Finally, work will begin on the rammed aggregate piers.
Question of the Week
What happened to the blue windscreen on the construction site fencing?
In preparation for Hurricane Irma visiting Atlanta, the CLC site was prepped by stopping work and securing the site. This included removing the blue windscreen from the construction fence. The high-speed wind could possibly have knocked over site fencing had the screening been in place, and without it, the wind was able to pass-through the site and avoid causing damage.
